D-Compose nr. 151
Recycling Daily News by Greetje van Tiem
Today's news, tomorrows textile. Yarn that originates from a memory. The front page of a newspaper yields no less than twenty metres of spun paper. Making it possible to transpose yesterdays news into all kinds of upholstery. When you look closely you can see letters, dates and a colour scheme appears from the pictures and advertisements. You are not able to read the newspaper anymore, but the memory is kept alive.
Recycling daily news was part of the D-compose exhibition and attracted curious visitors. Greetje is working out the process with a manufacturer to develop the product further.
