Rematerialize the Future! 2010

A car door reinforced by the traditional material hemp by Hempflax. Golden oldie Flax, used to produce stylish rope lamps, designed by Christien Meindertsma, embracing technology and craftmanship. Wearable plastic, high quality, comfortable sportswear like flecce, made out of recyclable PET. Springy coconut materials has become a new egg packaging developed by Enkev. Bioluminescence is where nature and science meet. Living organism lighting your life and home. A few examples of innovations you will find in this new edition of Rematerialize the Future!

This years focus is on materials used for interior and fashion. Fabrics from recycled plastics or lactic acids show the high quality new generations of materials that contribute to a sustainable future and lifestyle. Known from Material Sense's presentations, the story of materials is told by examples from raw ingredients, to materials and the final product applications. Most materials can be touched (and tasted!) to experience the materials yourself.Ā

Rematerialize the Future! kicked off on the 23rd of October during the Dutch Design Week.

The exhibition is guided by a publication with all presented materials and can be purchased on our website!

Rematerialize the Future will be travelling around in 2011.
