Knitted Light 'Moonlighter' by Delia Dumitrescu
Starting from the relation between light, textiles and space, the presented project proposes a vision of textiles being a part of building façades; as an interface between the interior and the exterior. The created textile interfaces are supposed to interact with the light passing between indoor and outdoor.
The exhibited prototype ‘Moonlighter' is a light emitting textile using florescent yarn and electroluminescent wire. In daytime it reflects the sun and, at night, reacts to noise lighting up from passersby.
Technique: relief knitting
Lighting material: electroluminescent wires, florescent yarn
