material expertise In architecture materials play a major role, not only for their constructive qualities, but also for their characteristics to create the required ambiance. Materials are able to strengthen the experience of the space, and in our vision, to connect to the user experience as well. For the new Hikers Cabin, the assignors Trekkershutten Nederland & Natuurkampeerterreinen has set the target to create a complete sustainable Cabin. Material Sense investigated in the first materialization trajectory of the new cabin. We collected materials, based on a set of sustainable criteria and in accordance with the designed concept of the architects. To create also the best experience for the target group we created material tests with users and committed hikers and bikers, to meet the expectations of the newly to build Cabin.
